I recently got off of my birth control and have been keeping an eye on my weight, the scale says that i have not gained any weight, if anything, it says ive lost a pound or two. Why do i feel like im gaining weight and like my pants are tighter? Could it have something to do with recently coming off the birth control pill? Any advice???? tHANKS!
The birth control pill can make some women appear to gain a bit of weight due to water retention in the body. It will go soon as you have now come off the pill and you’ll feel like yourself again
It could also be that you’re just a bit bloated. Happens to all of us.
I experienced the same phenomenon when I ceased taking the pill. For me personally, it took about two menstrual cycles before my body really returned to ‘normal’, and I still experience symptoms of weight gain/ water retention before my cycle. It’s absolutely normal for women to gain 3-5 pounds during a normal monthly cycle, and I think that mostly it comes back off when finished with the actual menstruation.
Do you feel more bloated? Maybe you are retaining water or maybe because you just stopped taking the pill, your body might be readjusting to it’s hormonal level causing you to feel bigger (when actually you aren’t). I really wouldn’t worry too much, just give it a few months and see how your body recovers. Even if you do gain a few pounds, don’t fret. More than likely you will lose them through water loss. It also depends on how long you were on your pills..ex: one year, two years, six months… your body will adjust accordingly (more quickly if you were on them a short time, a bit longer if on them longer).
We as women always experience this dilemma, so just know you aren’t alone. I find the older I get, the worse my PMS symptoms are. So now, I don’t freak out if the scale says I am four pounds more than my normal weight because chances are, after a week or so, I am back to where I like to be.
Sometimes before your period you will feel this way. Also if you dont exercise, then you start to feel bad and even fat even if you haven’t gained any weight. The way to get over it is to walk or do some little exercises every day and you will start to feel a lot better.
Some times if you change your life style and with age you can start to loose muscle and gain fat. You weigh close to the same amount but your body composition changes. This makes you feel slugish and your waist typically gets bigger.
Have you changed your lifestyle recently?
Your probally just bloated. I wouldn’t worry. Besides usually getting off birth control makes you lose weight not gain.
YOUR PROBABLY JUST BLOATED JUST WORKOUT A BIT AND STAY AWAY FROM SALTY FOOD.
Its is probably the food your eating
There’s a difference between being fat and being bloated I’m sure.
Water retention and musle loss. Try working out and stop adding salt to your food.
